Semi-permanent nail polish has become the go-to choice for women who want flawless nails for weeks without the frustration of classic polish that chips the very next day. At You Rêve Paris in the 1st arrondissement, we exclusively use OPI semi-permanent polishes — the world reference, with over 200 shades and a formula that respects your nails.

What Is Semi-Permanent Nail Polish?

Semi-permanent polish (also known as gel-polish) is a hybrid varnish that combines the easy application of regular nail polish with the durability of gel. It's applied in 3 layers (base coat, colour, top coat), each cured under a UV or LED lamp.

The result? A polish that doesn't chip, maintains its shine and resists knocks for 2 to 3 weeks depending on your daily habits.

Why OPI Semi-Permanent?

What Happens During a Semi-Permanent Appointment at You Rêve Paris

Step 1 — Nail Preparation (10–15 min)

Everything starts with natural nail care: our technician files, pushes back cuticles and thoroughly degreases the nail surface. This is the most important step for ensuring good adhesion and maximum longevity. A poorly prepared nail means semi-permanent that lifts within a week.

Step 2 — Base Coat (2 min)

The base coat protects the natural nail and creates the bond needed for the colour to adhere. It's cured for 30 seconds under an LED lamp.

Step 3 — Colour Application (5–10 min)

The shade is applied in two thin, even layers, each cured separately. Clean lines, uniform thickness, no overflow onto the cuticles — this is where our technicians' expertise makes all the difference.

Step 4 — Top Coat (2 min)

The top coat seals the colour, delivers the signature mirror shine of semi-permanent polish and protects against scratches. After the final LED curing, your nails are immediately dry — you can leave straight away.

Tips to Maximise Longevity

How long your semi-permanent lasts depends a lot on your daily habits. Here are our tips:

Removal: Never at Home!

This is the most important point. Peeling semi-permanent polish off yourself strips layers of keratin. Your nails become thin, ridged and brittle — and this effect can last several weeks.

Correct removal involves soaking in an acetone solution for a precise amount of time, followed by gentle removal with a wooden stick — never metal. At You Rêve Paris, semi-permanent removal is just €10 (hands or feet).

Can I Add Nail Art?

Absolutely. Semi-permanent is the perfect base for all our Nail Art options:
