1. Why this bridge matters this year
May 2026 strings together two bridges six days apart: 8 May (Victory in Europe) and 14 May (Ascension). For Parisians and visitors alike, that's rare. Most of the Louvre district — tourists, families, expats — flips to "extended weekend" mode from Wednesday evening 13 May.
Concretely, what this means for you:
- Paris terraces, from the Marais to Saint-Honoré, overflow from Thursday lunchtime.
- Weekend beauty appointments (Sat-Sun) often go from the previous Tuesday onwards.
- Weekday mornings (Thursday 14 and Friday 15) stay surprisingly calm: the best slots are still available there.
Our advice: lock in the routine Thursday morning between 10am and noon. Coffee at the Palais-Royal, treatment with us at 7 rue d'Argenteuil, and the rest of the day is yours.
