The sakura manicure revisits the cherry-blossom palette: powdery soft pink, milk white, branch brown and a cherry-flower accent nail. Best on short almond nails, in OPI semi-permanent (holds 2-3 weeks). Visible across Paris for a month in April: Champ-de-Mars, Tuileries, Parc de Sceaux. Base manicure €45 + complex design on quote.
The word sakura names the blossoming of Japanese cherry trees. In Paris the phenomenon is more discreet than in Kyoto but very real: every mid-April, the pink trees of the Champ-de-Mars, the Tuileries and Parc de Sceaux draw walkers, photographers and hanami enthusiasts. A short season, two to three weeks at most. The right moment for a manicure to match.

The sakura palette: three pinks, one white, one accent
Rather than a single pink, the sakura reading layers several shades to recreate the effect of a bouquet:
- Powdery soft pink — the dominant shade, almost nude (OPI Bubble Bath, Tickle My France-y).
- Milk white — a soft base to highlight the pink (OPI Funny Bunny).
- Branch brown — a darker accent echoing the twigs, painted on a ring-finger nail.
- Vivid pink flower — used only to draw the cherry blossom on the accent nail.

Three versions, from minimal to signature
Version 1 — Discreet sakura
All nails in powdery soft pink, glossy finish. No drawing. The pink does the work.
Version 2 — Sakura with accent
Four nails in soft pink, one nail (ring finger) with a cherry blossom drawn in white and vivid pink. Subtle contrast, instantly recognisable.
Version 3 — Signature sakura by Dodo & Xin
The signature work of our nail masters: powdery gradient across the whole hand, fine branches drawn in brown on two nails, pink blossoms on one or two others. A hand-painted, photographic effect.

The shape that flatters the motif
Sakura calls for lightness. Three shapes work particularly well:
- Short almond: the most universal. Lengthens the finger without overloading.
- Rounded square: ideal for carrying a full design without overflow.
- Oval: elegant, but requires natural nails with at least 4 mm of free edge.
💡 Tip: our colour tool suggests the pink shades that suit your skin tone. Useful to validate a palette before your appointment.

Where to photograph your sakura manicure in Paris
A few easy spots from the 1st arrondissement:
- Tuileries Gardens: magnolias and cherry trees along the central paths. 3 minutes from the salon.
- Champ-de-Mars: Japanese cherries lined up near the École Militaire. Heavily photographed, very luminous.
- Parc de Sceaux (RER B): the densest concentration in the Paris region. Worth a Saturday trip.
- Square Boucicaut (7th arrondissement): intimate, off the tourist trail.
