Saint Agnes (21 January), patroness of brides-to-be, marks the start of winter or early-spring wedding preparations. The winter bridal palette revolves around off-white, ivory, rosy beige and pearlescent French. 3-week wear in OPI semi-permanent (€45), final application 2 to 5 days before the day.
At You Rêve Paris, a manicure salon in the 1st arrondissement, winter bridal trials start in late January. Saint Agnes on the 21st has become an unofficial landmark for future brides who want to plan without rushing.

Saint Agnes, patroness of brides-to-be
In Catholic tradition, Saint Agnes is associated with young women and engagements. Her feast on 21 January symbolically opens the preparation season for late-winter, spring and early-summer weddings. Religion aside, it is a useful calendar landmark not to start too late.
The winter bridal palette: five shades to know
Winter calls for softened tones in tune with cold light and the white dress. Five colours stand out.
1. Off-white
Warmer than pure white, it avoids the "plastic" effect and stays luminous in photographs. A timeless winter bride classic.
2. Ivory
Slightly creamy, ideal for antique lace or raw silk dresses. It pairs particularly well with gold jewellery.
3. Rosy beige
Complete discretion: the hand looks dressed without any detail shouting. Perfect if the dress is heavily worked and you want the fabric to take the spotlight.
4. Pearlescent French
A very soft white tip on nude base, finished with a pearlescent top coat. Powdered effect, photogenic, undated.
5. OPI Powder Pink
A very light pink-peach (think Bubble Bath or Tickle My France-y) for brides who want a touch of warmth while staying understated.

Recommended shape and length
For a winter wedding we favour:
- Medium length (just past the fingertip) — visible on ring photographs without hampering daily gestures.
- Soft almond or rounded square — feminine, elegant, no risk of catching the dress fabric.
- For fragile or short nails: a €70 BIAB overlay (75 min) reinforces and slightly extends for the day.

The ideal countdown to the wedding
- D-60 (around Saint Agnes): first trial manicure. We validate shade, shape, length.
- D-30: shade adjustment if the dress evolved or hesitation lingers.
- D-7: final base care session (hydration), no colour yet.
- D-3 to D-5: final semi-permanent application. Three days leave time for removal if needed while keeping the look fresh.
💡 Tip: Our colour finder tool can pre-select three shades to try at the salon, rather than arriving empty-handed.

And for brides-to-be with no wedding in sight?
No need for a wedding on the horizon to embrace the palette. This range of off-whites, rosy beiges and pearls is the signature of mid-winter quiet elegance — the one that works everywhere effortlessly, from office to dinner.
