Carnival is traditionally the time of year you dare it all. After Valentine's playing classic red, Shrove Tuesday invites colour. Three designs stand out at our salon.
Why a Shrove Tuesday nail art?
Shrove Tuesday is the last day before Lent in the French tradition. Historically, the feast of excess, costumes, colour. Today it is:
- A perfect excuse to wear bold nail art.
- An antidote to grey February.
- A transition toward spring brights.
Design 1 — Rainbow chic
Principle: one different colour per nail, within a coherent palette. No aggressive neon — stylised Parisian.
Our 5-finger palette suggestion:
- Index: amethyst purple.
- Middle: soft mustard yellow.
- Ring: sage green.
- Pinky: terracotta orange.
- Thumb: dusty fuchsia.
5 colours, OPI semi-permanent on each, glossy top coat. Striking, 2-3 weeks wear.
Design 2 — Glitter accent nail
Quieter, equally festive. 9 solid nails in a base colour (nude, taupe or burgundy) and 1 multi-glitter accent or iridescent chrome (+€10). Not too bling, just enough carnival.
Design 3 — Multi-colour baby-boomer
The baby-boomer (+€15) in its Shrove Tuesday version: base no longer cream but a pastel (powder pink, lilac, mint) fading into a saturated colour tip. On all nails or just two.
The "after Shrove Tuesday, back to discreet" option
Wearing a colourful design on the 17th but wanting nude back the next week, two paths:
- Removal (€10/15 min) of the colour semi-permanent + new nude semi-permanent (€45) = about €55 extra.
- Keep the design 2-3 weeks and return at your usual appointment — cheapest path.

Why book early?
Rainbow chic takes 60-75 minutes. Multi-colour baby-boomer needs 75 minutes. These long slots are rare midweek. At D-6 from 17 February, we recommend locking now — especially Dodo or Xin for a signature design.
