Unlike a classic manicure that soaks the hands and cuts the cuticles, a Russian manicure works dry. Using fine bits (e-file), the technician gently clears the skin fold around the nail without harshly cutting it. The area is clean, the outline perfectly defined, and the polish can be applied right up to the skin — hence that lasting "brand-new nail" effect.
