What we take away from January 2026 at You Rêve Paris, after the month: dark shades (burgundy, midnight blue, taupe) genuinely ruled in the cabin, the Russian manicure kept gaining ground, and BIAB stayed the favourite overlay. Nail art leaned fine lines, subtle ombré and micro-French. The record, not the forecast.
Every month, we look at what actually went onto our clients' nails — not what the magazines or Instagram predict. First month after the holidays, January is always a pivot: we pack away the New Year glitter, settle back into the office rhythm, and nails follow the same arc — quieter, longer-lasting, more structured. Here is the honest read of this month's appointments.

The 3 winning colours of January
Parisian cold pushed clients toward deep shades. Three colours stood out:
- Deep burgundy: the safe winter pick. Booked in OPI semi-permanent on most classic hands.
- Midnight blue: the shade Parisians adopt when they want a more modern contrast than black.
- Taupe: the "office-discreet" colour. Very popular with clients from the Louvre district.
Powder pink made a few appearances but stayed noticeably quieter than in December.

The techniques that gained ground
Russian manicure rising
The Russian manicure kept climbing. Clients love the precision on cuticles — especially when paired with semi-permanent applied right after. Result: a sharp finish that holds 2 to 3 weeks.
BIAB chosen over tip extensions
On the overlay side, BIAB kapping beat classic tip extensions in demand. Logical: it reinforces the natural nail without adding length — ideal for winter.

The nail art we kept doing
January confirmed a quieter mood than autumn: less flashy chrome, more fine detail. Three designs ran on repeat:
- Fine gold or black lines on nude base — bespoke design quoted on request.
- Subtle ombré between close tones (taupe + cream, burgundy + plum) — +€10.
- Micro-French: ultra-thin tip in white or colour — +€10 with the French design option.
💡 Tip: To stretch a January nail art, top coat is your friend. A home refresh every 5-6 days prevents dulling.

What we saw on the feet side
January = boot season. Plenty of SPA Luxe Pedicure without polish (€70 / 50 min) in maintenance mode: callus removal, deep hydration. No statement colour — toenails sleep under socks anyway, so we treat them quietly.
February preview: what's coming
The February calendar is busy:
- Candlemas on 2 February — soft tones (beige, caramel, milky white).
- Mardi Gras on 17 February — a carnival touch for those going out.
- Valentine's Day on 14 February — the return of red OPI, fine heart nail art, rosy baby-boomer.
The weekends around the 14th will fill quickly. We recommend booking in the first week of February.
