Lash Lift in Paris: The Permanent Mascara Effect Without Extensions

What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is a gentle perm applied at the root of your natural lashes. Over the course of an hour, your lashes are positioned on a small silicone shield shaped to your eyelid's natural curve, then a reshaping lotion followed by a fixing lotion is applied. The result: your lashes come out curled, visibly longer and more open — without a single artificial lash added.

The effect is immediate the moment the treatment ends. Lashes that naturally grow downward or straight are lifted upward, giving you an open, wide-awake gaze. The optional tint, offered in our Lash Lift + Tint formula, further intensifies the colour from root to tip for a permanent mascara effect — especially recommended if your lashes are light, brown or sun-bleached.

Lash lift vs extensions: two radically different approaches

A lot of clients ask us "which is better, lash lift or extensions?". The honest answer: it depends on your goal. Both techniques answer different desires and aren't competitors — they're complementary.

Choose the lash lift if you already have nice natural lashes you'd like to showcase, want to keep mascara in your routine, and prefer ultra-simple upkeep. Choose extensions if your lashes are very short or sparse and you want a more dramatic look.

What a session looks like at You Rêve Paris

The session lasts around 60 minutes, during which you stay lying down on our treatment bed, eyes closed. It's a real moment of pause — many of our clients tell us they've fallen asleep.

1. Consultation (5 min): your esthetician analyses the length and direction of your natural lashes and selects the silicone shield size (S, M, L) that matches your eyelid. This step determines the final curl.
2. Cleanse & positioning (10 min): lashes are deeply cleansed, then positioned one by one on the shield using a water-soluble gentle adhesive.
3. Reshaping lotion (10–12 min): a first lotion softens the lash keratin to allow its new shape. The processing time is tailored to your lash texture (fine, medium, thick).
4. Fixing lotion (10 min): a second lotion locks in the new curl permanently. Keratin disulphide bonds reform in the curled position.
5. Tint (10 min, optional): if you've chosen the Lash Lift + Tint formula, a deep black professional colour is applied from root to tip.
6. Nourishing finish: a serum of argan oil and keratin is applied to recondition the lashes. Your eyes open on a transformed gaze.

The first 24 hours: what you need to know

During the first 24 hours after the treatment, the keratin finishes its fixing cycle. To guarantee a long-lasting result, a few simple rules:

• No water on the lashes (shower facing the wall, skip the hammam and pool).
• No mascara or oil-based makeup remover.
• No friction: don't rub your eyes, don't sleep face-down on your pillow.

After those first 24 hours, you can return to your normal routine — including mascara, regular makeup remover, swimming and sport.

Aftercare over 6 to 8 weeks

The lash lift follows your natural lash renewal cycle. Each lash lives between 4 and 8 weeks before falling out and being replaced. Over time, lifted lashes fall and are replaced by untreated ones. The curl therefore fades gradually and harmoniously, never abruptly.

A few simple habits to extend the effect:

• Brush your lashes every morning with a clean spoolie (we gift you one at the end of the session) to redirect them upward.
• A nourishing serum applied in the evening (hyaluronic acid or castor oil base) keeps the lash supple.
• Remove makeup gently, without rubbing. Favour micellar water applied on a cotton pad pressed on the eyes for a few seconds.
• Avoid daily waterproof mascaras, which require aggressive removal. Regular mascara comes off easily.

Who's the lash lift for?

The lash lift suits the vast majority of women, especially those who:

• Already have decent lash length but find their gaze "tired" or closed-off because lashes grow downward.
• Work in demanding professional environments where daily eye makeup becomes a chore — a surgeon, a lawyer, a rushed mum all benefit from the time saved.
• Do a lot of sport or regularly visit the pool, hammam, or gym — mascara doesn't belong there, a lash lift does.
• Are preparing a wedding, a trip or an event and want a "ready" gaze without relying on daily makeup.
• Don't want to commit to the strict maintenance of lash extensions.

When to avoid? If your lashes are extremely short, sparse or weakened by a recent treatment, we may recommend a reconditioning period (growth serum) before the lash lift. Your esthetician will assess this at the consultation.

Lash lift alone or lash lift + tint?

This is the question we get asked most. Both treatments take the same time (60 min) and deliver the same curl. The difference is the gaze intensity.

• Lash lift alone (€65): perfect if your lashes are already naturally dark. The curl alone transforms your gaze.
• Lash lift + tint (€80): a must if your lashes are blonde, light brown, red-toned or sun-bleached. The deep black tint, applied from the root, delivers a 24/7 mascara effect for 4 to 5 weeks. It's our most-requested formula.
