Preview — six nail shades coming for February 2026: Valentine red (Big Apple Red), peony pink (Mod About You), plum (Lincoln Park After Dark), peach nude (Tickle My France-y), icy blue (Suzi Without a Paddle), off-white (Funny Bunny). Why each one is emerging, and how they should spread across the 28 days of the month.
At You Rêve Paris, a 1st arrondissement manicure salon, we prepare February before it arrives. Valentine's (14), Chinese New Year (17), school holidays (from 25), light returning around the 20th: these four markers already dictate what clients will ask for. Here is the forecast — six shades, and for each one, why we expect it.
1. Big Apple Red — Valentine's red
The vivid scarlet, classic and strong. Why we expect it: Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday in 2026, with Chinese New Year close behind — a double call for red across the first fortnight.
Anticipated window: 4 to 16 February.

2. Mod About You — peony pink
A medium pink, slightly warm, echoing peony without sliding into candy. Why we expect it: the soft alternative to red, to mark Valentine's without the intensity.
Anticipated window: 14 to 24 February, Valentine's → end of month transition.
Shade number:OPI B56.

3. Lincoln Park After Dark — deep plum
Winter's last dark plum. Why we expect it: as long as the Paris sky stays grey, dark shades hold — and plum is the dressiest of them for end-of-month evenings.
Anticipated window: 16 to 28 February, late winter embraced.
Shade number:OPI W42.

4. Tickle My France-y — peach nude
A lightly rosy-peach nude, our "chameleon" shade. Why we expect it: school holidays (from 25) always bring a wave of minimalist requests.
Anticipated window: all month for minimalists; peak expected around school holidays (25 February).
Shade number:OPI F16.

5. Suzi Without a Paddle — icy blue
A very light powder blue, almost grey, evoking ice. Why we expect it: the late-winter "signal" shade — the one that announces the light is returning, as soon as the days lengthen.
Anticipated window: 18 to 28 February, as a switch toward March light.
Shade number:OPI F88.

6. Funny Bunny — off-white
A slightly creamy white, reserved for very well-kept hands but absolutely elegant. Why we expect it: February stays a winter-bride month, and off-white is their safe choice.
Anticipated window: 16 to 28 February, or as a winter bridal colour.
Shade number:OPI H22.

How these shades should spread across the month
Our week-by-week forecast, before February begins:
| Week | Event | Suggested shades |
|---|---|---|
| 1-7 February | Sales end, month start | Tickle My France-y, Funny Bunny |
| 8-14 February | Valentine's Day | Big Apple Red, Mod About You |

How to articulate with semi-permanent
OPI semi-permanent holds 2 to 3 weeks. In practice, February = two applications, 15 days apart. Our suggested cadence:
- Application 1 around 31 January or 1 February: pick Big Apple Red or Mod About You to cover Valentine's.
- Removal + Application 2 around 15-16 February: switch to Lincoln Park After Dark, Suzi Without a Paddle or Funny Bunny for the second half.
Total monthly cost: 2 × €45 = €90, or 2 × €70 in SPA Luxe = €140.

For nail art lovers
Three options that extend the palette:
- Chrome gold (+€10): pairs beautifully with Big Apple Red or Lincoln Park After Dark for Chinese New Year.
- French design (+€10): nude base + red tip for Valentine's, or nude base + icy blue tip for end of month.
- Baby-boomer (+€15): soft ombré, often requested in late February to anticipate spring.
