Our waxing protocol
What happens during your appointment, step by step
1. Preparing the skin
The area is cleansed, then powdered to absorb moisture: the wax then grips the hair rather than the skin, which noticeably reduces the pulling sensation.
2. Wax and hygiene
We work with hot wax, which grips the hair without sticking to the skin. The spatula is changed at every pass: it never goes back into the pot once it has touched the skin.
3. Applying and removing
The wax is applied in the direction of hair growth and removed against it, skin held taut, in short strips. Sensitive areas — bikini, underarms — are worked in several small pulls rather than one large one.
4. Finishing and aftercare
Any remaining hairs are tweezed, then the area is treated with a soothing oil that calms redness and nourishes the skin. Avoid sauna, steam room and sun exposure for 24 hours.

What type of wax is used at You Rêve Paris?
We use professional-grade hot wax that grips the hair without sticking to the skin, making treatments less painful and more precise than cold wax strips.
What is the difference between classic, Brazilian and full bikini?
A classic bikini wax removes only what extends beyond the swimsuit line. A Brazilian wax goes further on the sides and inner thigh, keeping a central strip. A full bikini wax removes everything, including the intergluteal cleft.
How long should hair be before waxing?
Hair should be at least 3–5 mm long (about 2–3 weeks after shaving) for the wax to grip properly. Below this length, results will be incomplete.
How long does waxing last?
Skin typically stays smooth for 3 to 5 weeks. With regular waxing, hair regrows finer and sparser over time — unlike shaving, which thickens the hair.
Does it hurt?
How it feels depends on the zone and on where you are in your cycle. We work sensitive areas in short strips rather than one large pull, which noticeably reduces the discomfort. If it hurts, say so: your therapist slows down and breaks the area into smaller sections.
It is my first bikini wax — what happens?
Tell us when you arrive. Your therapist explains each step before starting, suggests beginning with a classic bikini wax for a first time, and adapts the pace. You can ask for a break at any point.
